Dental Hygienist - Mobile Van/ CT Float - Full Time - $1,000 Signon

The Dental Hygienist – Mobile Van/Float delivers comprehensive oral health services to children and families across Connecticut. The role combines clinical expertise with community outreach, providing care in school‑based, community‑based, and mobile settings. Flexible travel and fast‑paced mobile environment required.

• Clinical Care & Oral Health Service – provide high‑quality dental hygiene services in a mobile setting, including prophylaxis, hand scaling, ultrasonic scaling, deep scaling/root planning, fluoride varnish and sealants, digital radiographs, and oral hygiene education.
• Infection Control – maintain strict infection control standards, sterilization and reprocessing of instruments, aseptic technique, PPE protocols, treatment area cleanliness, logbook compliance, and support dentists with four‑handed dentistry techniques when required.
• Mobile Van/Float Operations – travel between school‑based, main sites, community‑based, and mobile dental sites across Connecticut as assigned; set up and break down the mobile dental van and clinic sites; collaborate with the Mobile Unit Driver; assist with community events, health fairs, and outreach activities to promote oral health awareness and services.
• Documentation & Compliance – accurately complete electronic health records (EHR), including medical histories, charting, and patient documentation; adhere to state, federal, and organizational policies related to infection control, confidentiality, and patient privacy.
• Community Engagement & Education – provide culturally competent care to diverse patient populations, build rapport with patients, families, school staff, and community organizations, fostering trust and continuity of care.
• Other related and relevant tasks or projects as assigned.

• Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program.
• Current Connecticut Dental Hygienist license in good standing.
• 2+ years of dental hygiene experience preferred (community or school‑based program experience a plus).
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR), dental charting, and documentation.
• Knowledge of dental procedures, infection control, and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Ability to lift and transport dental equipment and supplies.
• Comfortable working in mobile settings, including clinics, schools, and community sites.
• Exposure to blood‑borne pathogens, requiring adherence to OSHA standards.

• Willingness to travel extensively across the state to support multiple sites.

• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records, health information, and organizational data, in accordance with HIPAA and CHC policies.
