• Bachelor’s degree in special education, education, literature or related field
• Valid Connecticut state endorsement (042):
  Art, PK-12 or eligibility for certification in the state of Connecticut
• Minimum of two years experience teaching special education student populations with language‑based learning differences
• Familiarity with the IEP process and collection of progress monitoring data
• Create and maintain an orderly and aesthetic learning environment that accounts for students’ social, emotional, and executive functioning needs
• Commitment to help children of all abilities reach their full potential
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative, enthusiastic style to fit with our small‑team environment

• Deliver adaptive art instruction using research‑based practices, modify lessons to meet diverse student needs, and create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Develop and maintain lesson plans, instructional materials, and accurate documentation of student progress and skill development.
• Differentiate instruction and implement behavior supports as needed to ensure meaningful and safe participation for all students.
• Collaborate with colleagues, follow school‑wide expectations, contribute to non‑instructional activities, and communicate effectively with staff and families.
• Integrate technology into instruction, supervise students across various school settings, and perform other duties as assigned to support school and program success.
