Receptionist​/Cashier

Overview

Volkswagen of Stamford is seeking a dedicated Receptionist/Cashier to help grow our department and provide our customers with exceptional experiences. The ideal candidate will flourish in a fast-paced and professional workplace.

• Receive calls into the dealership, determine the nature of the caller’s business, and direct the caller to their destination.
• Handle basic accounting functions in accounts receivable and accounts payable; calculate the customer’s bill using the dealership’s computer system.
• Accept payments (cash, checks, and credit cards) and record the amount received on the repair order and/or counter ticket; issue receipts and make change accurately.
• Answer phones and direct customers to the proper department; follow up in a timely manner; operate the switchboard system.
• Handle customer complaints diplomatically and refer to the appropriate individual for resolution.
• Communicate with callers professionally and minimize time on hold; assist managers with clerical duties as needed.
• Be friendly, professional, courteous and efficient when working with all customers and employees; familiarize yourself with department structures and internal procedures.

• Experience with Microsoft Office suite is a plus.
• Available to work flexible hours on weeknights and weekends.
• Ability to communicate customers' interests, needs and requests to management and sales personnel.
• Professional personal appearance; clean driving record; valid driver’s license.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; team player; ability to learn new technology.
