About The Opportunity

Chelsea Piers hosts over 1,000 children’s sports-themed birthday parties, hundreds of field trips, and countless special events each year. We’re looking for part-time Birthday Party & Event Staff Members who are dependable, energetic, and love working with kids.

In this role, you’ll help create safe, exciting, and memorable celebrations by setting up event spaces, leading activities, and delivering outstanding hospitality to our guests. Whether you’re organizing a trampoline dodgeball game, helping on the rock wall, or serving cake, you’ll be part of a team that makes every event unforgettable.

Compensation: $16.50/hour

Schedule:

Part-Time, about 5-10 hours per week, with more available based on business needs and event volume. Mainly weekends and some daytime or evening hours for one-off field trips or special events.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Facilitate fun, age-appropriate activities for children ages 3–15, such as relay races, trampoline dodgeball, rock climbing, and batting cages.
  • Monitor events to ensure guest safety, engagement, and enjoyment.
  • Clearly communicate safety rules and ensure they’re followed.
  • Set up event spaces with decorations, paper goods, party favors, food, and beverages.
  • Belay on the rock wall (training and certification provided—no prior experience required).
  • Assist guests with directions, carrying belongings, and general inquiries.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies or injuries in accordance with safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with children in groups preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Energetic, professional, and team-oriented.
  • Ability to engage and entertain groups of all ages.
  • Must be available to work weekends (Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday afternoons).
  • Passion for sports is a plus.
