Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join a leading investment firm in Westport, CT. This is a rare opportunity for an ambitious finance professional to take ownership of the fund accounting function while building a clear path toward eventually stepping into the CFO role
.

• Oversee all aspects of fund accounting, including NAV calculations, investor allocations, and financial statement preparation.
• Manage external fund administrators, auditors, and service providers to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Support capital activity processes including capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting.
• Partner closely with investment, legal, and operations teams on fund structuring, performance analysis, and strategic initiatives.
• Lead audit and tax processes, ensuring accurate documentation and timely filing.
• Drive continuous improvement across accounting workflows, reporting capabilities, and financial processes.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
  CPA strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in fund accounting, public accounting, or asset management.
• Strong technical knowledge of investment fund structures and accounting standards.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
• A growth-oriented mindset with the ambition to develop into a senior leadership role over time.
