Compensation: $130,000 – $175,000/year + bonus

Schedule:

Monday to Friday (Hybrid)

Atlantic Group is hiring a Commercial Real Estate Underwriter (Bridge Loans) in Stamford, CT for our client, supporting the underwriting and structuring of short-term commercial bridge loans. In this hybrid role, you will analyze credit risk, evaluate collateral across multiple property types, and prepare investment‑grade underwriting materials. You will partner closely with originations, asset management, and legal teams to support efficient loan execution and portfolio growth.

Responsibilities

as the Commercial Real Estate Underwriter:
  • Bridge Loan Underwriting: Underwrite commercial bridge loans by evaluating borrower strength, property performance, collateral quality, and exit strategies.
  • Financial & Credit Analysis: Analyze borrower financials, operating statements, rent rolls, credit reports, appraisals, and third‑party due diligence to assess credit risk.
  • Market & Asset Due Diligence: Conduct market‑level and asset‑level analysis to evaluate fundamentals, competitive positioning, and risk exposure.
  • Credit Memos & Investment Support: Prepare detailed underwriting packages and credit memoranda that clearly articulate risks, mitigants, and return profiles for investment committee review.
  • Deal Execution &

    Collaboration:

    Partner with originators, asset managers, legal counsel, and vendors to support deal structuring, approvals, and loan closings while ensuring policy compliance.
Qualifications for the Commercial Real Estate Underwriter:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field required (advanced degrees or certifications preferred).
  • Experience: 3‑10 years of underwriting experience within commercial real estate debt, with strong exposure to bridge loans, transitional assets, or structured lending strategies.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of real estate fundamentals, valuation methodologies, loan structures, and credit risk assessment across multiple property types.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Advanced Excel‑based financial modeling, with experience using CRE research and underwriting platforms such as CoStar, Reonomy, Argus, Rockport VAL, or Salesforce preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong written and verbal communication skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment while managing multiple deadlines.
