Data Analyst - Hybrid Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 + Bonus & Equity Eligible
Location:
Stamford, CT
A successful and growing publicly traded financial services organization is seeking an experienced Data Analyst with data analysis experience, preferably from a similar industry. This is an operational and oversight function involving evaluating regulations, researching, and analyzing data, understanding technical implementations of systems, and creating control procedures to test compliance.
Responsibilities- Responsibilities for the Data Analyst will include reviewing regulatory data to identify root causes and necessary remediation for errors
- Utilizing UNIX command tools to make corrections to records as needed
- Developing surveillance for regulatory reporting and operational data
- Automating the Consolidated Audit Trail (CAT) business system.
- Following up with software developers and/or management on any errors or exceptions that arise
- Gathering facts to assist the firm in responding to examinations and formal inquiries
- Proposing improvements to, or additional controls over, regulatory reporting
- Perform ad hoc analysis and supervisory reviews as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in a quantitative or analytical field.
- 1-3 years of experience in data analysis, compliance, operations, audit, or finance.
- Experience in an analytical role, preferably in the financial sector.
- Strong data analysis, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience performing data analysis using programming languages (e.g., Python, Perl, or Go) and database queries (e.g., SQL)
- Regulatory research and interpretation skills preferred.
- UNIX experience, or ability to learn the operating system.
- Experience using Atlassian systems (e.g., Confluence and JIRA) is a plus.
- Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, FINRA Consolidated Audit Trail (“CAT”) / Order Audit Trail (“OATS”) systems.
