Description

A privately held institution is seeking a Chief Information Security Officer to lead its enterprise security program across information security and physical security. This role is responsible for protecting people, data, systems, and institutional reputation in a highly regulated environment.

The CISO will serve as a senior risk leader, working closely with executive leadership, second line risk partners, and board stakeholders to establish strong governance, policies, and controls while supporting the organization’s evolving business strategy.

What You’ll Tackle

• Define and execute enterprise-wide security strategy and governance

• Establish and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures

• Oversee cybersecurity program including incident response and vendor SOC

• Partner closely with second line cyber and risk teams

• Lead DLP initiatives, including AI and emerging technology governance

• Manage user access, identity controls, and provisioning standards

• Own vulnerability and patch management oversight

• Provide executive-level reporting and board updates

• Oversee physical security programs including access and surveillance systems

What You Bring

• 15+ years of progressive security leadership experience

• Experience working with boards, regulators, and second line risk teams

• Strong knowledge of information security governance and controls

• Ability to lead small teams and influence without scale

• High integrity, sound judgment, and executive presence

• Deputy CISO or CSO background

• Security certifications (CISSP, CISM, CCISO, CPP)

• Experience modernizing legacy security programs
