About the Role
Octagon is seeking an Account Executive to support the management, analysis, and optimisation of sponsorship assets, operational processes, and reporting across a global portfolio of client programmes for a Payment Services client. The role is highly focused on data analysis, asset management, reporting, and operational excellence, requiring an individual who enjoys working with large datasets, identifying trends, solving complex problems, and transforming data into actionable business insights.
While it supports some of the world's leading sports, entertainment, and lifestyle sponsor ships, the position is primarily an operations and analytics-focused role rather than event activation or partnership marketing. The Account Executive will join the Sponsorship Operations team within Client Services, which is responsible for leading Octagon’s client business and day-to-day management of client programmes.
- Own the collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of sponsorship asset utilisation data across a global portfolio of sports, entertainment, and lifestyle properties.
- Maintain and enhance large datasets used to track contractual rights, ticket inventory, hospitality usage, property assets, and sponsorship fulfilment.
- Develop, automate, and distribute recurring reports, dashboards, and analytical summaries that support client decision-making and operational planning.
- Analyse asset utilisation trends, identify data inconsistencies, and proactively recommend solutions to improve reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for sponsorship asset management systems, supporting users, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring data integrity across platforms.
- Partner with internal teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure sponsorship data is accurately captured, maintained, and reported.
- Perform detailed audits of sponsorship assets, ticket inventories, and fulfilment records to ensure compliance with client agreements and internal processes.
- Prepare executive-ready presentations and analytical reports that translate complex data into clear business insights and recommendations.
- Manage and participate in weekly status meetings by creating agendas, contributing to discussions, providing recap summaries, and discussing upcoming events, platform updates, and ongoing projects.
- Help manage the online system used to upload assets, track, manage, and fulfil orders.
- Identify opportunities for automation, workflow optimisation, and process improvements that increase operational efficiency and reporting accuracy.
- Manage multiple reporting cycles simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of best practices, documentation, and operational standards across the Sponsorship Operations team.
- 1-2 years of experience in data analytics, business analytics, operations, reporting, consulting, finance, marketing analytics, sponsorship operations, or a related analytical discipline.
- Bachelor's degree in business analytics, data analytics, statistics, economics, mathematics, finance, computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related quantitative field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, lookups, data validation, reporting automation, and large dataset management.
- Demonstrated experience transforming raw data into meaningful business insights and executive-level reporting.
- Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and a passion for data accuracy and quality control.
- Experience managing large datasets, conducting audits, identifying discrepancies, and implementing corrective actions.
- Ability to independently prioritise multiple projects, manage competing deadlines, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex analytical findings to non-technical audiences.
- Experience creating client-facing reports, dashboards, presentations, and performance summaries.
- High degree of attention to detail, ownership, and accountability.
- Impressive work ethic with the initiative to constantly go above and beyond.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed; anticipated travel is low (0-15%).
- Familiarity with reporting tools, data visualisation platforms, CRM systems, asset management…
