Maintains, installs, and troubleshoots all aspects of electrical infrastructure. Operates, inspects, and maintains all electrical equipment and systems in assigned facilities to obtain most efficient operating results and life expectancy. Assures that equipment is being maintained in an energy efficient, safe manner and downtime is reduced to a minimum by anticipation of necessary repairs and keeping records of past operating experiences.
Individuals are expected to demonstrate technical expertise in the electrical field while also maintaining basic knowledge of all other trades to successfully complete daily/weekly work assignments.
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical / instrumentation / control building equipment and systems required to operate and maintain electrical equipment and systems.
- Plan and layout work details in the assembly, installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical apparatus, control equipment and wiring used in industrial light and power distribution systems including equipment such as generating equipment, panels, automatic switches, variable frequency drives, complex circuit breaking units, transformer units, and alarms.
- Troubleshoot and correct faulty wiring or electrical difficulties in motors, and other equipment. Diagnoses, troubleshoot, repair, maintain, upgrade and install all electrical/instrumentation equipment and systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematic drawings.
- Interact with clients and maintenance staff to determine the best approach to completion of assignments in a safe, environmentally compliant manner.
- Safely use a large variety of hand and shop power tools.
- Complete all documentation by required deadlines. Document accurately and clearly in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) in real time.
- Perform all incidental /associated work required to complete the job assignment.
- Work with minimal supervision and proactively communicate with manager.
- Maintain work area and equipment in a safe, efficient, and clean operating condition.
- Strictly adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
- Assist in performing other duties, including work of other trades as required.
- CT Electrician License is required.
- High school diploma or state equivalent required.
- A minimum of 4 years of electrical trade school or training equivalent, with 5+ years of electrical work experience.
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes.
- Team player, hard worker, good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.
- Good Verbal And Written Communications Skills Are Required.
- Skilled and physically able to operate hand tools, work on a ladder, carry tools, lift, and carry heavy loads, operate required equipment, and operate a motor vehicle.
