As a Strength Instructor at Chelsea Piers Fitness, you’ll coach dynamic, high‑intensity classes that empower members to challenge themselves safely and effectively. SchedulePart‑time; must have the flexibility to work a non‑traditional schedule including weekend, holiday, and early morning/midday/late evening weekday availability.
Compensation$50 – $75 per hour, depending on experience.
Primary Responsibilities- Lead group strength and conditioning classes using free weights, functional equipment, and body weight training.
- Create well‑structured, progressive programs that focus on form, safety, and measurable improvement.
- Educate members on technique, recovery, and long‑term training principles.
- Encourage participation across demographics and ability levels.
- Collaborate with fitness leadership on programming and special events.
- Group Fitness Certification.
- Nationally recognized certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent) preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year teaching public classes.
- CPR & AED Certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Reliable with ability to attend all scheduled hours.
- Must be able to lift 30 to 45 pounds or appropriate weight to lead class.
