The Opportunity

As a Strength Instructor at Chelsea Piers Fitness, you’ll coach dynamic, high‑intensity classes that empower members to challenge themselves safely and effectively. Schedule

Part‑time; must have the flexibility to work a non‑traditional schedule including weekend, holiday, and early morning/midday/late evening weekday availability.

Compensation

$50 – $75 per hour, depending on experience.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Lead group strength and conditioning classes using free weights, functional equipment, and body weight training.
  • Create well‑structured, progressive programs that focus on form, safety, and measurable improvement.
  • Educate members on technique, recovery, and long‑term training principles.
  • Encourage participation across demographics and ability levels.
  • Collaborate with fitness leadership on programming and special events.
Qualifications
  • Group Fitness Certification.
  • Nationally recognized certification (ACE, NASM, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year teaching public classes.
  • CPR & AED Certification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Reliable with ability to attend all scheduled hours.
  • Must be able to lift 30 to 45 pounds or appropriate weight to lead class.
