Interstate Waste Services is hiring CDL B FRONT LOAD Truck Drivers in Stamford, CT.

Safety is our first priority.

This position requires at least 1 year of verifiable Commercial Driving experience AND experience driving a FRONT LOAD Truck.

• Monday thru Friday with occasional Saturday hours
• Early start time - 4am / 5am
• Hourly pay with overtime pay, $25.00 / hour (base)
• 1 year verifiable CDL experience required; some FRONT LOAD experience required

• Drivers are responsible for safely operating front, side, or rear-loading trucks to collect and transport waste or recyclable material.
• Transport the material to a disposal, transfer or recycling facility, often making one or more trips per shift.
• Deployment of both manual and automatic trucks.
• Driver position may require repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds and moving/managing up to 100 pounds, and mounting/dismounting the truck multiple times each route.

• 21 Years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States
• Valid Class A or B CDL
• Airbrake endorsement
• 1-year CDL driving experience in the last 7 years, must have front load garbage/waste truck driving experience
• Great safety record and clean MVR
• Experience as a Driver or Helper for a referral company is highly preferred
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and applicable traffic regulations
• Ability to speak and read English, communicate with the general public, understand highway traffic and signals, respond to official questions and make legible entries on reports & records
• Read and understand a map
• Meet physical and safety requirements of the position
• Willing and able to work required hours as allowed under DOT regulation, may include weekend, night and/or holiday work

• Routes may require drivers to navigate through congested communities and confined or tight areas in city locations.
• Highly skilled backing maneuvers are essential.
• Drivers routinely climb in and out of the truck cab to service customer accounts.
• Driver pre and post inspections are required. Drivers are responsible for ensuring their truck complies with IWS’s safety standards as well as OSHA and DOT regulations, and local traffic laws, prior to and while operating the vehicle.

USD $25.00/Hr minimum, USD $28.00/Hr maximum.
