Altera Recruitment Group is supporting a specialist technical business in Essex with the appointment of a Laboratory Technician to join its Technical Services team.
This is an opportunity to join a highly technical laboratory environment working with bespoke products and complex analytical requirements. The Laboratory Technician will support testing, product development and quality activities, working closely with an experienced technical team and playing an important role in maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality and HSE.
The role would suit a Laboratory Technician, Laboratory Analyst or Chemistry graduate who enjoys practical laboratory work, takes pride in producing accurate results and is looking to develop their career within a specialist technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Carrying out and reporting analytical testing on a range of samples using internal and recognised industry test methods.
* Preparing samples, solutions and product blends accurately and consistently.
* Calibrating and standardising laboratory equipment in line with the Laboratory Quality Management System.
* Identifying and raising non conformities, out of specification results and opportunities for improvement.
* Supporting quality systems, continuous improvement, method development and technical documentation.
Candidate Requirements
* Ideally a degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
* Previous laboratory experience is desirable, although strong Chemistry graduates with relevant practical laboratory experience will also be considered.
* Experience with analytical testing, sample preparation, laboratory equipment or quality control would be advantageous.
* Strong technical, communication and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
* HSE focused, with the ability to follow procedures, solve problems and work effectively under pressure.
What's on Offer
* Salary of circa £30,000 to £34,000 per annum.
* Permanent, full time position, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm, 37.5 hours per week.
* Essex based and office based.
* 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with a 10% discretionary bonus.
