Night Transport Operator

Streamline Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a fantastic client based in Stanford-le-Hope who are looking to appoint a Night Transport Operator to join their transport operation.

Full training and support will be provided for the right candidate, with salary and responsibilities tailored depending on experience and knowledge.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the overnight transport operation, ensuring vehicles and drivers are managed effectively, service levels are maintained, and a smooth handover is provided between night and day shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the smooth running of the overnight transport operation.
• Monitor vehicle and driver activity throughout the shift.
• Communicate regularly with drivers to manage workloads and resolve operational issues.
• Assist with planning, tracking, and recovering jobs where required.
• Ensure work is completed within agreed timescales and provide detailed shift handovers.
• Monitor delays, service issues, and operational challenges, escalating where required.
• Support with transport systems, bookings, and administration tasks (training provided).
• Complete operational checks and closedown tasks accurately.
• Liaise with fleet and operational teams regarding vehicle availability and maintenance.
• Build strong working relationships with drivers, planners, and management.
• Identify opportunities to improve operational performance and efficiency.

Experience

• Previous transport, logistics, planning, administration, or operational experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
• Experience with in container haulage, port operations, VBS systems, or transport planning is advantageous.
• Candidates with limited experience but the right attitude and willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.

  Location: Stanford-le-Hope
  Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00pm 6:00am
  Salary: Competitive and open depending on experience

Salary will be discussed based on experience, skills, and suitability for the role.
