The Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University is seeking two leaders in Pediatric Education. Positions are as follows:
Position 1 – National Leader in Pediatric Educational ScholarshipThe Stanford University, Department of Pediatrics is seeking an educational scholar to join the Department as an Associate Professor or Professor in the University Medical Line. Candidates must be board certified in Pediatrics and have a substantial record of scholarship in medical education.
The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
Academic rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
We are seeking an educational scholar who has a history of impactful, innovative, and evidence‑based publications that advance pediatric education, as well as a portfolio of funded research in education. The successful candidate will also have a strong track record of mentoring the next generation of pediatric scholars in medical education.
The successful candidate will: (1) conduct and disseminate educational scholarship; (2) mentor others to become educational leaders and scholars; and (3) be involved in national educational organizations and support others in developing their national involvement and leadership.
Position 2 – Associate Chair of Education, Department of Pediatrics, and Assistant Dean of GME, Stanford Medicine Children’s Health (SMCH)The Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University is also seeking an educational leader to join the Department as an Associate Professor or Professor in the University Tenure Line, University Medical Line or Clinician Educator Line. Candidates for this position must be board certified in Pediatrics and possess substantial experience as an educational leader, mentor, and scholar. The successful candidate(s) will have experience creating educational vision and strategic plans, leading education programs and initiatives, studying the impact of educational interventions, delivering feedback, and providing professional development to learners, faculty, and staff.

- The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Medical Line shall be excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, clinical teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
- The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educator is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.
