Clinical Research Coordinator Associate

Overview

The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine within Stanford University’s Department of Medicine seeks a Clinical Research Coordinator Associate (CRCA) to support clinical research related to heart failure. The CRCA will collaborate with principal investigators, clinical research managers, and other stakeholders to implement research protocols, recruit and screen subjects, and manage data collection and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as primary contact with research participants, sponsors, and regulatory agencies; coordinate studies from start‑up through close‑out.
  • Determine eligibility and obtain consent from study participants according to protocol; assist in developing recruitment strategies.
  • Coordinate collection of study specimens and processing.
  • Collect and manage patient and laboratory data; maintain research project databases and complete case report forms.
  • Ensure compliance with protocols, audit case report forms for accuracy, and prepare regulatory submissions including Institutional Review Board renewals.
  • Assemble study kits, monitor scheduling of procedures, coordinate documents, and attend monitoring meetings with sponsors.
  • Monitor expenditures and adherence to study budgets, resolving billing issues with finance or management staff.
  • Interact with the principal investigator regularly to ensure patient safety and adherence to study conduct.
  • Participate in monitor visits and regulatory audits.
Desired Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of clinical trial experience preferred; experience in cardiovascular research is a plus.
Education & Experience (required)
  • Two‑year college degree with two years of related work experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
Certifications & Licenses
  • Working toward certification(s) to perform basic patient measurements and tests, such as phlebotomy and EKG.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, squat and use fine light/fine grasping.
  • Occasionally sit, reach above shoulders, perform desk‑based computer tasks, use a telephone and write by hand; lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 40 pounds.
  • Rarely kneel, crawl, climb ladders, grasp forcefully, sort and file paperwork or parts; rarely lift, carry, push, or pull objects that weigh 40 pounds or more.
Working Conditions
  • May require working in areas with hazardous materials or exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or chemicals.
  • May require extended or unusual work hours based on research requirements.

Pay Range

$34.56 to $40.30 per hour.
