Introduction
Passionate about wildlife and eager to experience life in one of the worlds most beautiful cities? Join the Wildlife Rescue Center near Vancouver and play a hands-on role in rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing native animals back into the wild. This opportunity is designed to give you the contacts and experience to help further your career. You are not replacing any member of staff, but helping alongside them, whilst learning new skills.
Responsibilities- Care for injured and orphaned wildlife at Canada’s largest wildlife rehabilitation center near Vancouver.
- Focus on bird rehabilitation, helping species such as songbirds, shorebirds, and waterfowl recover and return to the wild.
- Assist with feeding, cleaning, habitat preparation and basic treatment support as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Help reduce human-wildlife conflict by assisting with the relocation of animals from urban areas to safe, remote habitats.
- Year-round program with over 190 volunteers annually.
- Minimum commitment of six weeks; schedule of 68 hours per week, four days a week with three days off to explore the Greater Vancouver area.
