The Neuromuscular Division of Neurology is seeking a Research Data Analyst (RDA) with clinical data management experience to utilize research tools, conduct and analyze research data, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role focuses on clinical data management and primarily supports the lab’s clinical data collection systems. Expect to use REDCap database design, form creation, and to align with administrative and research data governance.
A successful candidate will serve as the primary data manager for multiple clinical research studies, ensuring data integrity and efficient data flow from collection through analysis. SQL experience or familiarity with Google Cloud is preferred. Projects involve working with both pediatric and adult patients in lab and clinical settings, providing opportunities for long‑term growth and critical skill development in biomedical sciences.
Studies will be conducted at the Stanford University Medical Center. Candidates should submit a CV and cover letter addressing how their education and experience relate to the position described above.
- Collect, manage, and clean datasets.
- Employ new and existing tools to interpret, analyze, and visualize multivariate relationships in data.
- Use system reports and analyses to identify potential data problems, correct them, determine root causes, and suggest solutions.
- Develop reports, charts, graphs, and tables for investigators and for publication and presentation.
- Collaborate with faculty and research staff on data collection and analysis methods.
- Communicate with government officials, grant agencies, and industry representatives.
- Design, develop, and maintain REDCap databases.
- Ensure data compliance.
- Other duties may also be assigned.
- 1–2 years experience acquiring and/or processing data signals requiring a high level of technical skill and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with basic programming and scripts (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB, SQL).
- Strong general computer skills and ability to quickly learn and master computer programs.
- Experience in data science with applied statistics, visual, and communicative data.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and industry‑oriented electronic data capture programs.
- Experience with database, data management, REDCap, IRB requirements, and the Stanford clinical research environment highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team in a collaborative manner.
- Ability to determine workload priorities to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.
