Stanley Picker Fellowships in Art &Design, Stanley Picker Gallery

May 23, 2026

The Stanley Picker Gallery at Kingston University is seeking to appoint two contemporary practitioners to the Stanley Picker Fellowships in Art & Design 2026.

Each Fellowship provides up to £16,000 and valuable access to the extensive material workshops, technical resources and expertise within Kingston School of Art and the wider University departments, to support a practice‑based, innovative research project that will result in an exhibition of international standing at the Stanley Picker Gallery.

See our Fellowships pages for information on previous recipients of the Stanley Picker Fellowships and About to learn more about the Gallery and its wider programme. Watch a recording of the Pre‑Application Q&A session with our Director David Falkner, our former Curator Borbála Soós and artist Larry Achiampong.

This year selection panel will be comprised of Gallery Director David Falkner who will be joined by Curator Madeleine Collie and the Director of Architecture, Design and Fashion at the British Council Sevra Davis
.

Madeleine Collie is a curator, writer and editor whose practice moves across exhibition‑making, publishing and public programming, at the intersection of art, design and ecology. She collaboratively leads the Food Art Research Network and recent curatorial and editorial projects include Follow the Plants in collaboration with Bioart Society, to be published in 2026 by Discipline and Onomatopee and Earth Ethics:
Art, Institutions and Regenerative Practices published by MUMA and Monash University Publishing 2025.

Sevra Davis is Director of Architecture Design and Fashion at the British Council and Commissioner of the British Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. At the British Council, she works to create collaborative and international exchange opportunities for the global design sector. She trained in architecture and has worked as an architect, urban designer and leading design advocate. She speaks and writes frequently about the role of design in an increasingly complex world with a particular focus on design for the circular economy.

The Stanley Picker Gallery and our University partner‑venue Dorich House Museum are committed to working ambitiously, innovatively and inclusively to foster equality and diversity across all of our activities and operations. We strongly encourage participation from all protected characteristics to achieve fairness of opportunity for all. We fully acknowledge our environmental responsibility and our duty to reduce our impact on the planet through transforming our working practices.
