Mental Health Support Worker Mental Health Support Worker - Trowbridge | Full-Time / Part-Time | £85-£110 Per Day | September 2026 Start Are you a Psychology graduate or aspiring mental health professional looking to gain valuable, hands-on experience supporting children and young people? This Mental Health Support Worker opportunity in Trowbridge offers the chance to work within a specialist education setting, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Autism (ASC), ADHD and other additional needs.
As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will provide consistent, compassionate support to children who may experience anxiety, emotional dysregulation, low confidence, behavioural challenges or difficulties engaging with education. Working alongside teachers, SEN professionals and therapists, you will help pupils develop emotional resilience, positive coping strategies and the confidence to overcome barriers to learning.
The Role As a Mental Health Support Worker, your responsibilities will include:
Providing tailored one-to-one and small-group support to pupils experiencing SEMH and emotional wellbeing needs. Building positive, trusting relationships that help children feel safe, understood and supported. Supporting pupils to recognise, understand and communicate their emotions and individual needs. Helping children develop practical strategies for emotional regulation, anxiety management and coping with challenging situations. Encouraging confidence, resilience, independence and positive self-esteem.
Supporting pupils who may experience emotional distress, behavioural challenges or difficulties engaging with learning. A bout You The ideal Mental Health Support Worker will be compassionate, patient and emotionally resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting children and young people's mental health and wellbeing. A Psychology degree or relevant academic background is desirable, although candidates with experience in SEN, care, youth work, education or support work are also encouraged to apply.
What We Offer This Mental Health Support Worker position offers: £85-£110 per day, depending on experience. PAYE weekly pay. Full-time and part-time opportunities starting in September 2026.
