Job Type: Temporary
Working Pattern: Office based only
Hours: 9:00am - 5:30pm (1-hour lunch break) + occasional additional hours as required
Salary: £17 per hour
About the Role
We are recruiting for a Temporary Accounts Assistant.
This is a varied, hands-on role requiring strong organisation, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will be working as part of a supportive finance team where communication, efficiency, and attention to detail are essential.
The role is office based only, working from the team's Essex office.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing purchase ledger invoices and credit notes
- Managing purchase ledger payments
- Raising and processing sales ledger invoices and receipts
- Maintaining multi-currency cash books and performing bank reconciliations
- Preparing weekly payment runs
- Managing and monitoring a shared finance email inbox
- Providing general finance and administrative support to the team as required
We are looking for someone who is:
- Flexible, confident, and able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- A strong communicator with a professional telephone manner and client-focused approach
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and efficiency
- Competent in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting software
- A proactive team player who can also work independently when required
- Temporary role within a busy and supportive finance team
- Broad exposure to client accounting processes
