Responsibilities

Position Overview

Ledgent Finance & Accounting's client is actively seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Cost Accountant to join their team. This position is crucial in ensuring accurate cost analysis and effective management of financial operations. The role is fully onsite and provides an exciting opportunity for professionals with a background in accounting and finance.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare reports comparing standard costing to actual production costs.
• Participate in physical inventory and cycle counts to ensure accuracy of inventory records.
• Prepare metric reports for the Production and Inventory Managers.
• Research purchase price variances to determine root cause.
• Assist in month-end close processes.
• Interact with outside auditors during the year-end audit.
• Reconcile inventory records as needed.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Excellent Excel skills, including pivot tables and vlookups.
• 5+ years of experience in accounting.
• 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to identify and resolve problems accurately and timely.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in ERP accounting software.

Required Work Hours

The position requires availability from Monday through Friday during first shift hours.
