Under direction of the Assistant Director for Alumni Partnerships & Business Development, this position’s primary responsibility is to provide leadership for alumni partnerships and advertising initiatives, alumni affinity programs, and the alumni Traveling Bulldogs program. The role oversees and manages a portfolio of alumni association partners, affinity partners, and stewards relationship with alumni travelers.
Responsibilities- Oversee Alumni Association affinity & revenue share partnerships, including the management of partner relationships to increase participation and revenue
- Coordinate and expand a portfolio of alumni advertising partners, guiding all phases of development and execution, including managing asset deliverables, communications, and ongoing partner stewardship
- Manage and steward a portfolio of alumni travelers and prospects providing information, support and customer service through phone, e‑mail, and in person visits
- Lead Alumni Association membership initiatives in collaboration with Annual Giving to support engagement and fundraising goals
- Administers the Mississippi State Car Tag program, implementing growth strategies
- Participate in regular professional development opportunities to support continued learning and growth
- Provide leadership in reporting and data collection for benchmarking and engagement scoring, program surveying, and assessment for programs within the position’s scope
- All other duties as assigned
The position reports to the Assistant Director for Alumni Partnerships & Business Development. This position has no supervisory responsibilities but may give general instructions to subordinate student employees.
Minimum Qualifications- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
- 2 years directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Position requires occasional travel. A valid driver's license is required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent planning, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Ability to initiate, manage and complete special projects and/or assignments taking ideas from conception through implementation
- Demonstrates ability to work independently and as a team
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with external partners, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of MSU
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment
- Position requires walking, standing, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands, and lifting up to 25 pounds
- Work often involves externally imposed deadlines, shifting priorities, and frequent interruptions. The nature and volume of work may be difficult to predict more than a few days in advance. Meeting deadlines, coordinating multiple tasks, and managing conflict resolution or emotionally sensitive interactions are regular aspects of the role

- Position requires occasional travel and occasional work outside of normal business and ability to travel domestically and internationally while hosting groups or events
