Our client is seeking a specialized Mine Ventilation Engineer to enhance the safety and efficiency of their mining operations in Welkom . This role requires a deep understanding of airflow dynamics, gas dispersion, and dust control within underground mining environments. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining ventilation systems to ensure optimal working conditions and regulatory compliance. • Design, implement, and optimize mine ventilation systems to ensure adequate airflow, air quality, and temperature control.
• Conduct regular surveys and monitoring of ventilation parameters, including gas concentrations and dust levels.
• Develop and maintain ventilation plans and contingency strategies for emergency situations.
• Analyze ventilation data to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with mine planning and operations teams to integrate ventilation requirements into mine design.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations pertaining to mine ventilation.

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering with a specialization in ventilation, or a related engineering field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, preferably in underground mining.
• Proficiency in mine ventilation software (e.g., Ventsim, Ventsim ADVANCE) and modeling techniques.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and dust control technologies.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in both field and office settings.
