This position is responsible for processing and management of the Return of Title IV Calculation (R2T4), responsible for monitoring the attendance of Pell Grant recipients, responsible for the processing, reconciliation, continued cash flow and management of the Pell, IASG, and Teach Grant payments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manages the return of federal/state/institutional aid for withdrawing students. Performs R2T4 calculations.
  • Assures compliance with all Federal, State, and Institutional regulations in regards to withdrawal students.
  • Provides documentation to federal, state, and internal auditors for review. Responds to requests from government agencies requesting required information.
  • Manages the adjustment of Pell Grant funds, when necessary.
  • Monitors and submits disbursements of Pell, Teach, and Iraq Afghanistan Service Grant funds on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis.
  • Reconciles each fund monthly and at year end to make sure all disbursements and cash drawdowns in internal Banner systems are reconciled to Department of Education COD system.
  • Assures compliance with Federal regulations regarding awarding and disbursement of these grant funds.
  • Gathers data for the Fiscal Operations Report (FISAP). Assists director prepare, compile, and edit the FISAP report.
  • Communicates the need for cooperation and understanding with other departments of all areas to maintain compliance with all Federal regulations in regards to withdrawing students and Pell recipient attendance.
  • Assures that the policy and procedure manual is complete and updated yearly.
  • Evaluates training opportunities for Financial Aid employees and monitors training budget limits and adjustments.
  • Monitors and approves all student aid adjustments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Supervisory Responsibility:

    This position may supervise some exempt and non-exempt employees.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and 3 to 5 years of related experience.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Master's Degree and additional years of Financial Aid experience beyond the minimum.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to effectively communicate with students and staff members with a high degree of professionalism.
  • Ability to understand and apply financial aid criteria.
  • Strong attention to detail and understand the importance of confidentiality.
  • Working Conditions and Physical Effort
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • No or very limited physical effort required.
  • Job frequently requires walking, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing, handling objects with hands.
