To perform a variety of duties in support of services provided by Campus Landscape, including routine cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of grounds.
Responsibilities- Maintains university grounds using edger, blower, trimmer, mower, and other equipment.
- Installs landscaping and related items on university grounds.
- Mow grass, mulch leaves, clean-up grounds and verify designated areas of campus.
- Assists with appropriate pest control (non-herbicide use) for lawn and landscaping.
- Maintains equipment such as hand tools; power equipment, including chain saws, edger, weed eaters, push and/or riding mowers, backhoes, tractor etc. May procure supplies, parts, and tools as needed.
- Responsible for care and routine maintenance of equipment.
- Operate and make minor adjustments to mowers.
- May perform special projects related to various aspects in Campus Landscape as assigned by supervisor.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- Ability to read and write plus experience in landscaping.
- Valid driver's license may be required for specific positions.
- Understands instructions for effective contribution to the team.
- Action-oriented; self-starter; and full of energy for work landscape work assignments.
- Ability to exercise functional and technical knowledge with skills to perform the job.
- Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
- Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
