Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations, ensuring a positive customer experience, efficient inventory management, and a well-trained team. The role involves overseeing daily operations, maintaining store standards, and leading the team to achieve sales goals while building a positive work culture and supporting change management efforts.
Responsibilities- Ensure a welcoming environment by greeting customers and maintaining store appearance, including displays and signage, while training and coaching team members to provide exceptional service.
- Oversee inventory flow, including markdowns, ticketing, and clearance management, maintain accurate pricing, organize stockrooms, and remove damaged or expired items on schedule.
- Train, develop, and provide continuous feedback to team members on customer service, store policies, operational procedures, and compliance tasks to foster a productive work environment.
- Monitor sales performance, implement strategies to achieve targets, collaborate with the store manager on effective marketing and promotional campaigns, and maintain a clean, organized store.
- Assist the Store Manager with daily operations and employee supervision.
- Maintain proper inventory controls, facilitate inventory transactions, and uphold compliance standards for shrink control.
- Direct and supervise employees in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, or providing customer services.
- Ensure staff adherence to all Citi Trends, Inc. policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3–5 years of retail experience, including 2–4 years as Assistant Manager.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
