State College Orthodontics is growing, and we’re excited to add to our team! We are seeking a skilled, dependable Orthodontic Clinical Assistant who is passionate about patient care, takes pride in attention to detail, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.

Friday | 7:20 AM – 4:40 PM
Lunch
: 11:40 AM – 12:40 PM (dependent on patient care needs)
Alternating administrative day(s) off (as scheduled)
The Orthodontic Clinical Assistant supports the orthodontist and clinical team in delivering excellent patient care and maintaining efficient clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities- Set up and break down chairs to support smooth patient flow
- Assist the orthodontist during patient treatment and procedures
- Deliver excellent patient care and support a positive patient experience
- Take and process x-rays and clinical photographs
- Take and process intraoral scans
- Maintain and support digital workflow and imaging systems
- Update medical/dental history forms with patients as needed
- Clean retainers and aligners for patients
- Perform sterilization and follow infection control protocols consistently
- Walk patients back from reception and support pre-visit steps
- Greet patients/visitors and assist with checkout as needed
- Complete accurate treatment documentation in the patient record
- Provide patient education, motivation, and home-care instructions
- Support practice promotions and special projects
- Use digital checklists for daily/weekly/monthly task completion
- Perform other duties as needed to support clinic operations
- Strong teamwork, professionalism, and attention to detail
- Reliable, organized, and able to manage time well in a busy setting
- Clear communication skills with patients, parents, team members, and doctors
- Comfortable with computer systems and documentation (Word/Excel a plus)
- Dental/orthodontic experience preferred; willing to train the right candidate
- Dental assisting experience: 1 year (Preferred)
- X-ray Certification (Preferred)
- CPR Certification
- Infection Control Certification
- Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) License
- SOA (Specialized Orthodontic Assistant) or COA (Certified Orthodontic Assistant)
