Job Summary:
$60K start incentive, insurance on your first day, malpractice with tail, work-life balance, PSLF Program! The Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine division at Geisinger is seeking a board-certified/eligible physician to enhance its growing team. This full-time opportunity combines outpatient pulmonary care, inpatient pulmonary/critical care, and optional sleep medicine (up to 1 week/month). This dynamic opportunity is in the Geisinger Western Region (State College/Lewistown).
Physicians may live in State College or Lewistown areas and practice at the Geisinger Healthplex State College in Port Matilda, PA and/or the Pulmonary Clinic in Lewistown with inpatient Pulmonary and Critical Care services at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital in Lewistown, PA!
- Work in a collegial team of 2 extremely experienced, kind and welcoming providers growing to a team of 4
- Combination of Pulmonary/Critical Care with 3 weeks of clinic, including procedures and 1 week of inpatient care/month
- Typical clinic day consists of 6 hours of patient contact time and 2 hours of administrative discretionary time
- Outpatient procedures include bronchoscopy, EBUS, thoracentesis, pleurx catheter placement, etc.
- Inpatient procedures include thoracentesis, bronchoscopy with EBUS, chest tube placement, ultrasound evaluation, central line/HD catheter placement, arterial lines, paracentesis, lumbar puncture, percutaneous trach and pleurx catheter placement
- Opportunity to teach Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine Pulmonary Critical Care fellows, Family Practice residents and medical students
- Participate in scholarly activities, committees and research as well as interdisciplinary programs with Tumor Board (Thoracic Surgery and Oncology) at both cancer centers
- Receive both clinical and academic titles upon start at Geisinger College of Health Sciences
