Mechanical Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer
The High Performance Materials and Processing Development Department of the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State is looking for an Engineering Technologist to support mechanical component testing and equipment integration into existing laboratories.
ARL is an authorized DoD Skill Bridge partner and welcomes all transitioning military members to apply.
Responsibilities- The design of universal robotic attachments for new and existing processes
- The design of components and development of drawings for the fabrication of test equipment for cold spray systems
- Collaborate with project leadership and R&D engineering staff to provide expert engineering assistance for research projects and proposals
- Provide training, direction and guidance on various characterization techniques and testing procedures to students and staff. Coordinate and schedule technical training on new equipment.
- Utilize computer aided design software to develop electrical, mechanical and/or software products
Typically requirements include a Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering discipline; 2+ years of related experience.
Required skills and experience- Hands‑on experience in the operation and maintenance of different mechanical test processes
- Ability to develop and execute test plans for tensile, fatigue, wear, and corrosion testing

- A Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or a related field

Proposed salary range: $61,800 - $89,600.
