Direct Care Worker (Personal Care Aide / Caregiver)

• Completion of High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 18 years of age or older
• Satisfactory performance on a competency evaluation and annual reevaluation
• Reliable transportation to and from assignments
• Completion of all required health screenings
• Obtaining satisfactory references and background screenings prior to hire

• Help the client maintain good personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming and dressing
• Assist in maintaining a healthy, safe environment
• Assist the client with meals
• Assist the client with transfers and ambulation, with or without an assistive device
• Provide medication reminders
• Encourage the client to become as independent as possible according to the nursing care plan
• Maintain client/family confidentiality at all times
• Report any changes in the client’s mental or physical condition or in the client’s home situation to the company
• Perform routine housekeeping tasks that contribute to a safe and comfortable environment for the client

• Ability to stoop and bend
• Ability to travel to prospective clients’ residences
• Ability to safely lift, turn and transfer clients weighing up to 40 pounds
