POSITION SUMMARY:
Assists in the delivery of quality healthcare by exercising sound nursing judgment in accordance with recognized healthcare techniques, procedures and established standards and administrative policies.
- Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing.
- One year nursing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of practical nursing principles and skills needed to provide quality patient care.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Pennsylvania Practical Nurse License.
- Meets American Heart Association standards for Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years.
Fast paced, stressful, high traffic medical office. May be exposed to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, bodily fluids and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
Responsibilities- Provide general nursing care to patients.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
- Screen and prioritize patient telephone inquiries.
- Assist with the preparation of equipment and assist the provider during treatment.
- Perform and document various tests and procedures as directed by the provider.
- Evaluate and respond appropriately to urgent emergency situations.
- Timely and accurate documentation of care provided in the patient’s medical record.
- Pennsylvania Practical Nurse License.
- One year nursing experience preferred.
