Outdoor Adventures Youth Worker

The Department of Campus Recreation is seeking to fill the position of Outdoor Adventures Youth Worker. This entry level position is responsible for facilitating high quality outdoor/adventure experiences for youth.

• Provide excellent customer service and facilitate a positive risk management culture.
• Assist with daily operations involving youth programs in indoor and outdoor settings, including group-based teambuilding, Stone Valley Recreation Area activities, boat rentals, climbing structures, facility rentals, and other outdoor adventure activities.
• Drive University vehicles and trailers as required.
• Work 2‑3 programs per semester (more during summer) with variable hours, including overnight shifts; program coverage scheduled 2‑4 weeks in advance.
• Attend mandatory staff development workshops and trainings.

• Prior outdoor leadership experience welcomed but not required.
• Desire to learn new skills, develop youth facilitation/leadership abilities, and interact with youth in dynamic settings.
• Valid US driver's license and successful motor vehicle records check.
• Must complete PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, FBI Criminal Background Check, and motor vehicle records check.
