Overview
Principal Signals Software Engineer (Onsite) ation options include State College, PA;
Ft. Meade, MD; or Aurora, CO. Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
In the Principal Signals Software Engineering role, you will design, develop, optimize, and test systems using models to satisfy the customer mission for our satellite ground systems team. This position focuses on radio frequencies, Fourier analysis, and digital signal processing to support our Satellite Ground System Team. This is an onsite position.
- Design, develop and modify software systems using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcomes of design.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to integrate signal processing software with satellite ground systems.
- Develop and implement algorithms for signal processing, including Fourier transforms, digital signal processing, and RF signal processing.
- Analyze and optimize signal processing algorithms for improved performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to signal processing software.
- Lead one or more software development teams and ensure work complies with the chosen software development process.
- Follow established software processes and procedures, including documentation and maintenance of operations concepts and requirements.
- Active and transferable TS/SCI with Polygraph U.S. government issued security clearance prior to start date; U.S. citizenship is required.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience.
- Experience as a Signals Software Engineer (SSWE) or equivalent with a focus on RF, Fourier transforms, filtering, communications theory, digital modulation, error control coding, signal analysis tools (e.g., Wigner-Ville transform, DVT), and digital signal processing (e.g., adaptive beamforming/filtering, demodulation).
- Experience with software defined radio architectures.
- Experience with programming languages such as Java, C, C++, and Python.
- Experience with satellite communication systems and ground systems.
- Experience with commercial wireless standards, geolocation techniques, software configuration management, Python and Matlab.

Salary range for this role: 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits and incentive programs depending on the role and business unit. This is a U.S.
