Salary:
Commensurate with experience. Paid monthly.
The Department of Clinical Sciences is now accepting applications for part‑time faculty to provide instruction for the academic year. Positions are on an as‑needed, semester‑by‑semester basis.
Responsibilities- Provide instruction in undergraduate or graduate level courses in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program.
- Teach courses such as speech and language development, phonetics, American Sign Language, communication and deafness, introductory audiology, introductory aural rehabilitation, or clinical/professional writing, and graduate courses in cognitive and linguistic foundations, fluency disorders, or aural rehabilitation.
- Use a variety of delivery formats; if teaching online, enroll in Georgia Southern University’s online certification program if not already certified.
- Teaching assignment spans one semester or minim ester.
- Willingness to engage with institutional student success initiatives.
- Commitment to engaging with best practice initiatives in instruction and pedagogy, mentoring, and curriculum design and development.
- Proficiency with computers and web‑based technology.
Minimum Qualifications – Undergraduate Courses
- Earned a Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Communication Sciences or Disorders, or at least 18 graduate semester hours in deaf education.
Minimum Qualifications – Graduate Courses
- Earned a Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Communication Sciences or Disorders.
- Current certification of clinical competence from ASHA.
- Licensed or license‑eligible to practice professionally within the state of Georgia.
- Earned Doctoral Degree in Communication Sciences or Disorders or a closely related field.
- CCC‑SLP or CCC‑A.
- One or more years teaching experience in higher education.
- Proficiency with design and instruction for online courses.
