Dining Services

Maintains a clean dishroom, properly washes, sanitizes and sorts soiled dishware and restocks dish areas. Oversees set‑up and breakdown of dish room equipment and replacement of all soaps, chemicals and cleaning products. Keeps the dish room organized, free of clutter and maintains equipment and work areas to the Department of Health and Serv Safe Standards.

• Monitors sanitation practices to ensure compliance with standards and regulations of the Department of Health.
• Maintains the dish room area for cleanliness and organization; reports equipment issues.
• Ensures all dishes are properly rinsed, washed, sanitized and put away for service; washes items by hand as needed.
• Follows safety guidelines and keeps the floor free of water, debris and obstacles.
• Oversees set‑up and breakdown of machines and ensures all chemicals and cleaning products are replaced as needed.
• Maintains clean sinks, removes trash promptly and keeps work surfaces clean and organized.

Educational Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.

Skills & Abilities:

• Consistently exhibit engaging customer service.
• Ability to support various constituencies served by the university.
• Proven proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office, Google, and other applications.
• Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision.

Knowledge:

• Adheres to university policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of sanitation regulations.
• Knowledge of food service equipment.
• Knowledge of proper food handling practices as outlined in Serv Safe.

Other Information:

• Work generally performed in an office environment; may occasionally extend beyond 40 hours.
• Travel may be required.
• May be required to maneuver items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Work performed in indoor and outdoor environments.
• Stand, bend, walk and lift as needed throughout the day.
• Environment may become noisy, crowded at times.
• Work in a cafeteria setting.

$15.84 per hour (non‑exempt, bi‑weekly pay).
