Maintenance Technician – Willingway

Location: Statesboro, Georgia

About the Job: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the facilities and equipment to ensure a safe environment and adherence to federal, state, local and regulatory standards. The role includes routine and specific maintenance services, including grounds work.

• Perform daily routine maintenance and repair on the facilities and equipment, including plumbing, sheetrock, electrical, carpentry, mechanical equipment repair, painting, sign making and changing, etc.
• Maintain general plant and facilities in good repair, ensuring a safe, clean and comfortable environment.
• Complete work orders and hazard reports in a timely and efficient manner. Report and fix equipment malfunctions or breakdowns and all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to the Director immediately.
• Ensure maintenance supplies are ordered, locally picked up or obtained and properly stored in the maintenance area.
• Follow an up-to-date preventative maintenance and repair schedule and complete reports.
• Assist in maintaining parking lot and sidewalks, lawn care and landscaping as needed.
• Inspect and maintain emergency power equipment; test/start generator weekly and maintain equipment; inspect and maintain fire alarm system, fire doors, audible and visible alarms, smoke detectors, extinguishers and lighting system throughout the facility.
• Inspect and maintain plumbing system; replace or repair faucets, toilet stools, urinals, traps, drains, basins and bathtubs; repair or refinish furniture in rooms, offices and dining room as needed.
• Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored before leaving such areas on breaks, end of workday, etc.
• Assist with ongoing compliance with fire and disaster drills and actual situation preparedness; conduct drills as directed.
• Prepare rooms for meetings and arrange furniture for facility functions.
• Available to be on-call and work weekends as necessary.
• Work with external contractors as requested.
• Assist with client transports as requested.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least two years’ experience in maintenance or facility operations required; health care facility preferred.
• Certification or licensure in trade such as electrical, plumbing or HVAC preferred.
• Valid state driver's license (if required by state and facility).
