Quanex is looking for a Director of Accounting to join our team located in Statesville, North Carolina
.

The Director of Accounting will lead the management of all divisional financial functions including financial accounts preparation, budgeting and strategic planning, financial administration activities, internal and external audit liaison, and compliance with SOX requirements of the business. Supervision and guidance of Plant Controllers and staff accountants in all locations that report into the division across North America.

• Supervise general ledger closing, financial statement preparation, account analysis, management report preparation, analysis of financial results, management of sales and use taxes, budgeting.
• Supervise the plant controllers and staff accountants that report into the divisional central finance function.
• Provide strong leadership and direction to other departments.
• Resolve frequent financial and management reporting issues.
• Travel from the main place of work to manufacturing operations to support local teams.
• Prepare the annual strategic plan and budgets, working alongside the FP&A function.
• Drive the process for developing manufacturing budgets and improvement initiatives.
• Implement and manage SOX compliance duties and ensure full audit compliance.
• Collaborate with local site management for financial analysis, ad hoc requests, and strategic planning support.
• Perform other related duties as necessary or assigned.

• BS in Accounting is a minimum requirement.
• At least 10 years of financial management experience.
• Strong analytical and accounting skills, ability to use ERP systems, spreadsheets, and database applications.
• Independent judgment in managing cash, payables, payroll, and financial reporting.

The salary range for this position is $154,000 to $188,000 with bonus potential.
