Summary Of PositionWorks as a part of a multidisciplinary care treatment team to facilitate the provision of holistic, whole-person healthcare for all Kintegra Health patients. Provides behavioral health and substance abuse screening, brief intervention, education, and referral services for patients presenting in Kintegra Health primary care clinics. Works with patients with psychosocial, behavioral health, chronic disease, behavior change, and/or substance use concerns. Provides targeted psychological testing, treatment planning and consultation to support the needs of primary care and community.
Is knowledgeable of and adheres to all policies, professional practice standards, philosophies and requirements for professional clinical practice. Acts as consultant for integrated healthcare and works with key staff in areas of quality improvements, education, training, and efficiency targets and outcomes. This position reports directly to the Chief Behavioral Health Officer.

- Provides evidence based assessment, intervention, consultation, and referral services for patients with a variety of behavioral and chronic health conditions.
- Works cooperatively as an integral part of the primary healthcare team with the goal of improving patient care and increasing team efficiency.
- Formulates and facilitates the implementation of behavioral health, substance abuse, and chronic disease management plans of care through use appropriate treatment modalities, interventions, and available community resources.
- Assists primary care providers with screening, identification, diagnosis, management, and treatment of behavioral health, substance use, issues, chronic disease management.
- Engages in ongoing assessment and quality improvement strategies to assist in the implementation ongoing primary care/behavioral health integration strategies.
- Provides consultative services to health care team members within the scope of care definitions and provides training to other health care professionals as needed.
- Completes, in a timely manner and according to policy, all required documentation related to patient treatment, payment for services rendered, and organizational operations in accordance with the Kintegra Health policy.
- Engages in continuing education to maintain licensure and enhance professional competence relevant to medical and legal issues that impact patient care.
- Maintains working knowledge of and liaison with community agencies and resources.
- Assesses a patient’s psychological status and provides appropriate interventions and treatments.
- Collaborates with medical team and ancillary services to provide appropriate psychological therapy for patient.
- Refers patients to other disciplines for consult and evaluations as indicated.
- Provides psychological expertise and education to multidisciplinary team.
- Acts as resource to other disciplines.
- Communicates complex/sensitive information to patients and medical team.
- Administers and interprets psychological tests used for diagnosing mental and personality disorders and differentiating between organic and functional cases of behavior disorders.
- Provides leadership support for diabetes management and health psychological management initiatives throughout the behavioral health department and organization.
- Supports ongoing continuing education and training initiatives within the organization.
- Experience facilitating psychological testing, application of scientific methods to understand emotional and behavioral functioning, through administration, scoring and interpretation of tests.
