Systems Admin – Windows

This is a contract position for a Systems Administrator to support a Windows environment in Statesville, North Carolina, for 3-4 months.

• Install, configure, maintain, and address vulnerabilities for Windows Server and some Linux systems
• Install and configure database servers such as Microsoft SQL Server and Postgres
• Install and configure middleware such as IIS
• Install, manage, and configure PRTG monitoring environments
• Manage VMware and virtual machine infrastructure
• Administer Active Directory and Entra
• Create and maintain technical documentation
• Follow and document IT processes and change management procedures
• Develop and execute scripts using batch files, VBScript, and Power Shell
• Write and execute Microsoft SQL queries
• Apply security best practices across systems and environments
• Analyze system issues and implement solutions using sound problem-solving and decision-making approaches
• Prioritize and manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Communicate technical information clearly to team members and stakeholders

• Required
  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or equivalent related experience
  • 1-3 years of systems administration experience
  • Strong proficiency with Windows Server installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Experience with scripting in batch files, VBScript, and Power Shell
  • Knowledge of Active Directory and security best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to follow IT processes and document procedures
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to adapt and learn in a changing environment
• Preferred
  • 3-5 years of systems administration experience
  • Experience with Linux systems administration
  • Knowledge of Device wise
  • Experience with Nutanix infrastructure
  • Familiarity with Service Now change management
  • Microsoft SQL query writing experience
