Machinist
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in CNC milling, turning, raw material preparation, and precision machining. This role requires a strong understanding of G‑code, tooling knowledge, and the ability to read and interpret technical prints and instruments. As a Machinist, you will set up and operate CNC mills, lathes, and other equipment to fabricate metallic and non‑metallic parts while maintaining a safe, efficient, and clean work environment.
Responsibilities- Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes for machining operations, including trial runs to verify machine accuracy.
- Perform raw material preparation
, including cutting, measuring, and marking material for machining. - Program, edit, and troubleshoot G‑code to ensure accurate machining results.
- Perform tool changes, adjustments, and routine maintenance on machines and tooling.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
- Select and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and accessories for each job.
- Operate saws and other machines for material cutting and preparation.
- Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.) to ensure quality and conformance to specifications.
- Conduct quality control inspections of finished parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet required tolerances.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to resolve machining or assembly issues.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with other duties as assigned.
- Proven experience as a Machinist in a manufacturing environment.
- CNC milling and turning experience required
; manual machining experience preferred. - Strong knowledge of G‑code programming and editing
. - Proficiency with tooling setup, changes, and maintenance
. - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
- Skilled in using precision measuring instruments for CNC machining verification.
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
- High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training or certifications preferred.
- Regularly required to stand, use hands for fine manipulation, and reach with arms.
- Frequently required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear.
- Regularly lift/move up to 10 lbs; frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift/move up to 100 lbs with assistance or lifting equipment.
- Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
All candidates will be required to complete a machine setup and operation test as part of the interview process to demonstrate CNC machining knowledge and skills.
