Material Handler Associate

Description

The material handler position is responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the warehouse/yard. This position is responsible for maintaining the production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies, and staging finished products.

• Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or containers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
• Sort cargo before loading and unloading.
• Receive finished goods, inspect for damage, organize and accurately record inventory using production sheets or work tickets.
• Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets.
• Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
• Operate industrial forklift and motorized pallet jacks in warehousing chain‑link bales according to SKU numbers and material type.
• Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.
• Pack containers and re‑pack damaged containers.
• Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and return them after use.
• Pull and prepare rolled/bundled fence product and load fencing rolls onto a flatbed truck for customers’ orders and shipping.
• Follow established safety procedures when performing tasks and/or working with equipment.
• Perform miscellaneous yard/warehouse duties as necessary and as directed by supervisor.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Must be able to work overtime as required.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1-year experience in construction labor, fence yard labor, or equivalent related field.
• Successful completion of Forklift Safety Certification training.
