RMC Advanced Technologies (RMC AT), a subsidiary of Nano Xplore Inc., headquartered in Montreal, Canada, is an international manufacturer of plastics and composite products for industrial and transportation markets.
Job DescriptionThis position is responsible for the development, coordination, and hands‑on direct and indirect sales to an assigned group of composite material customers in the U.S. & Canada, coupled with new account exploration to achieve sales objectives. The ideal candidate will be results‑driven and motivated, able to work independently while having the full support of the entire RMC team in the US and Canada.
The Business Development Manager will also help develop opportunities and sales for other parts of the business, including Nano Xplore's Graphene, and serve as a technical advisor to customers on product applications.
- Maximize the product line sales growth and profitability.
- Work with VP, Business Development & Sales Managers to establish and implement targeted sales opportunities, build quotes for current and new accounts within targeted account groups or product segments.
- Participate in sales forecasting and planning.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers through regular calls (phone and in‑person), timely follow‑up, including training & mentoring, and networking at industry/business events and sales meetings.
- Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
- Generate sales leads, follow up on referrals, and qualify potential customers.
- Provide sales assistance to customers by engaging internal and external resources and identifying product opportunities.
- Submit call reports in a timely manner following company protocol.
- Recommend changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Meet quarterly and annual sales and gross profit margin goals.
- Provide technical support and advice relating to all company products.
- Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales.
- Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers.
- Travel as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field or equivalent work experience in sales, business, or marketing.
- 5 years' sales experience with a track record of superior performance metrics.
- Understanding of the composites industry and/or related fields.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities in English.
- French verbal and written communication an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Technical & Professional – ability to understand and articulate composite processes to customers.
- Customer Focus – ability to develop a deep understanding of the customer's business and sustain productive customer relationships.
- Decision Making – identifies and understands issues, problems and opportunities; evaluates and creates strategy for accounts.
- Planning & Prioritizing – excellent planning and strategy development to maximize business opportunities and sales results.
