Director of Clinical Education/Assistant Professor of Applied Behavior Analysis

The Applied Behavior Analysis Director of Clinical Education (ABA-DCE) will report to the Program Director for the ABA Program. The ABA-DCE will have primary oversight for the clinical and experiential requirements within the undergraduate and graduate departmental educational programs. The position will include related teaching responsibilities specific to the clinical and supervision components for the applicable degree programs. The ABA-DCE will ensure we meet applicable accreditation requirements, which may include: establishing and maintaining relationships with suitable clinical settings, including verifying arrangements for supervision with qualified preceptors, maintaining current written agreements with community partners and clinical sites, and establishing/tracking data from student clinical experiences that demonstrate achievement of student learning outcomes and program objectives.

The position also includes maintaining familiarity with fieldwork experience requirements as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board® and establishing familiarity with the credentialing requirements of other behavior-analytic credentialing bodies (e.g., QABA®, IBAO®) to provide additional student support as needed. The ABA-DCE vacancy is a full-time, renewable, non-tenure-track, 12-month faculty position at the rank of assistant professor, working with a diverse student body.

The position is fully remote; however, the successful candidate may choose to have an office presence in Staunton, VA if they prefer.

• Teach ABA courses related to experiential learning each semester
• Manage all aspects of the clinical experience and/or experiential learning requirements for ABA programs as specified by applicable accreditation standards
• Provide additional student support for fieldwork experience as needed
• Membership on University and College/Departmental Committees
• Academic advisement and mentorship of students
• Other duties assigned by the dean or program director

• Candidates will possess a doctorate (Ed.D., Psy.
  
  D., or Ph.D.) in Education, Psychology, or Applied Behavior Analysis (ABD may be considered).
• Candidates will hold an active BCBA® or BCBA-D® credential and are expected to maintain certification throughout employment.
• Candidates will have a minimum of five years of experience supervising others in ABA-related clinical roles; evidence of supervision excellence is highly preferred.
• Candidates will demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Candidates will have experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate students through online modalities.
• Candidates will demonstrate evidence of engagement in teaching, research, and/or service that contributes to building and sustaining equitable, diverse, and inclusive communities.
• Candidates will demonstrate the ability to exercise leadership in planning, developing, implementing, evaluating, and customizing educational experiences.
