$5,000.00 sign‑on bonus for fully licensed teacher; $2,500 sign‑on bonus for license‑eligible. This full‑time position offers full benefits, generous PTO, and competitive pay.
Location:
Liberty Point Academy, Staunton, Virginia.
- Provide developmentally appropriate classroom instruction to assigned students according to IEP/IPP goals and objectives.
- Implement the Behavioral Program at Liberty Point, assess and document students’ behavior progress, and adjust strategies in consultation with the treatment team.
- Assess students’ academic achievement continually, document progress, and adjust instructional planning.
- Maintain consistent communication with parents, guardians, and local education agencies; complete progress reports and IEP updates.
- Participate in professional development activities, on‑site training, and relevant off‑site classes.
- Display a high degree of professionalism in all interactions with students, staff, parents, and agency personnel.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
- Hold a current Virginia or out‑of‑state teaching license in Special Education or General Curriculum K‑12; or hold a Special Education conditional license with plans to obtain a professional license.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Preferred:
At least three years of classroom experience. - Preferred:
Hold a current VA Driver’s License. - Strong leadership, exceptional communication, flexible work hours, and sharp attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Virginia Standards of Learning, theories of learning, effective teaching methods, assessment principles, classroom management techniques, and data collection.
- Skills to present effective lessons, organize instruction, manage behavior, and maintain positive relationships.
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; complete crisis intervention and first aid/CPR training.
