Firefighter/EMT

The City of Staunton Fire and Rescue Department is currently accepting applications for a full-time Firefighter/EMT to play a key role in providing vital services to the City and surrounding areas. This recruitment will serve to fill immediate and future vacancies.

Responsibilities include fire suppression, prevention, and inspection duties, as well as emergency medical service.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• Current certification as Fire Fighter II and EMT
• Passing written and physical ability scores on regional firefighter test or acceptable equivalent
• Certification in Advanced Life Support (ALS) and DPO/Aerial Ops highly desired

Other requirements:

• Must be able to work a 24-hour shift, weekends and holidays
• Must provide copies of current certifications and the written/physical ability test certificate upon request

Starting salary: $48,405/year depending on EMT certification; benefits are excellent.
