Position: Retail Sales Associate - 3782
Overview

We are seeking an entry-level, full-time Retail Sales Associate for First Cash located in Staunton, VA. The role involves delivering customer service on both lending and retail sides of the business and working with a variety of merchandise, including tools, electronics, jewelry, and possibly firearms in FFL locations.

Position Summary

We are seeking entry-level, full-time sales associates in our pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate greets, engages, and interacts with customers in a positive and professional manner to process sales, loans, and other transactions. The associates will work with a wide variety of jewelry and general merchandise. The position offers hourly wage plus commission based on productivity.

Pay is $15.00 to $18.00 per hour; actual pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience.

Responsibilities
  • Greets and interacts with all customers to develop a rapport and recommend appropriate financial solutions.
  • Performs non-management open/close procedures.
  • Keeps the sales floor clean, stocked, and maintains the display of merchandise.
  • Performs sales and loan transactions in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Handles all cash and negotiable items in accordance with established policies, procedures, practices, and regulatory requirements.
  • Answers incoming calls per company standards.
  • Effectively communicates the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
  • Communicates effectively with coworkers and managers, showing respect and using effective communication tools.
  • Partners with all employees to create a positive and memorable customer experience.
  • Successfully completes the assigned training.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.
Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
  • Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to perform duties for extended periods (standing, walking, climbing, etc.).
  • Ability to work with firearms and to become firearms certified.
  • Employees may assist customers exterior to the building or retrieve products stored in exterior storage areas.
  • Minimum Age: 18 years old
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
  • Strong desire to work, serve customers, work with people, and be team-oriented.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations proficiently.
  • Cash handling experience is preferred.
  • Willing to work at multiple locations as needed.
  • Flexible retail schedule including weekends and holidays.
  • Computer literate and able to operate POS systems and common office machines.

Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary to First Cash. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission based on the gross profit of their personal performance. Details are provided during the interview process. Pay rates will not be below applicable local minimum wage requirements.
