MEAT​/DEPT LEADER

Plan, organize, train, and direct Meat department associates; perform production and customer service functions; maximize store sales and profits. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

• Develop maximum customer relations through friendliness and courtesy, and implement all company policies. Be alert and assist in store security. Handle customer complaints effectively.
• Keep department temperature logs accurately updated and maintained. Train associates on temperature log procedures to ensure accuracy.
• Perform and oversee pricing and merchandising, ensuring proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation.
• Contribute to department budgets, goals, and results.
• Train and develop all Meat department employees, emphasizing customer courtesy, productivity, and proper technical skills.
• Implement company programs and adhere to policies, especially regarding a harassment- and discrimination-free work environment.
• Make recommendations on hiring, firing, disciplining, demoting, transferring, and evaluating associates.
• Promote and communicate company initiatives and process improvements positively to team members.
• Manage people effectively and organize workloads efficiently.
• Supervise and coach team members; conduct performance reviews and provide feedback.
• Work cooperatively in high-paced, stressful environments.
• Manage conflicts reasonably and cooperatively.
• Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
• Support and assist with direct interactions involving minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
• Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum

• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to make quick, informed decisions.
• Calmly handle stressful situations and leave positive impressions on associates and customers.
• Skills in production, merchandising, and customer service related to food preparation and sales.
• Understanding of key department operations.
• Knowledge of laws and regulations related to employment, safety, and food handling.
• Meat work or similar food preparation experience.
• Dependability and integrity demonstrated through work history.
