Apartment Maintenance Technician

As an Apartment Maintenance Technician at Big Sky Apartments in Staunton, VA
, you will be a key member of our team assisting the Maintenance Supervisor and ensuring our property is in top-notch physical condition, inside and out. A typical day could include plumbing, electrical, basic drywall, carpet, and appliance repairs, plus common area and exterior maintenance and repairs, respond to after-hours emergencies, and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for residents.

• Perform and oversee maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, drywall, carpet, and appliance repairs
• Maintain common areas and exteriors to the highest standards
• Respond to after-hours emergencies (on-call rotation required)
• Delegate tasks to maintenance assistants and ensure timely completion
• Maintain accurate records for work orders, parts, inventory, and service follow-up
• Foster a positive, customer-focused environment for residents and team members
• Participate in ongoing training and mentorship through "The Park Academy"
• Other duties as assigned

• Caring attitude, pride in your work, and commitment to high performance
• Self-motivated, hard-working, and high-energy
• Experience in apartment maintenance or related field preferred
• HVAC certification preferred
• Skilled in using power tools and basic technology (computers/tablets)
• Good people skills, friendly and helpful attitude
• Ability to lift/carry up to 75 lbs. frequently
• Strong record-keeping and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Rotating after-hours on-call availability and weekends
