Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Shop Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance, diagnose mechanical issues, and repair a fleet of automobiles, Class 6–8 trucks, vans, and various types of equipment. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience working with both gas and diesel systems, along with the ability to repair major vehicle components and maintain small engines and outdoor power equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs on company vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair gas and diesel engines.
• Maintain and repair automobiles, Class 6–8 trucks, vans, and other fleet vehicles.
• Disassemble, repair, and overhaul engines, transmissions, clutches, rear ends/differentials, electrical systems, and other vehicle assemblies.
• Service and maintain small engines and outdoor power equipment, including mowers, chippers, blowers, and related machinery.
• Identify mechanical and electrical problems and perform appropriate repairs.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment remain safe, reliable, and operational.
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus two years of technical school education, or equivalent hands-on work experience.
• Proven experience as an automotive mechanic, diesel mechanic, fleet mechanic, or heavy-duty mechanic.
• Ability to work on both gas and diesel systems.
• Experience repairing engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and electrical systems.
• Experience maintaining trucks, vans, and fleet vehicles, including Class 6–8 trucks.
• Familiarity with small engines and outdoor power equipment, such as mowers, chippers, and blowers.
• Clean driving record.
• Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or the ability and willingness to obtain one.
